The Search Processhsk_title_searchprocess

Establish position requirements

The Howard-Sloan-Koller Group and the client will agree on a position description and candidate profiles for each assignment. This assures that you are comfortable with how we will represent the search in the marketplace. We can then define the goals you expect the individual to accomplish during the first year. The necessary objectives would be incorporated into the position descriptions, and presented to qualified candidates so that they fully understand the opportunity.

Targeting candidates

HSK will identify a broad scope of companies and organizations that would be likely to have people of the caliber, experience, and skill level that we are seeking. We will contact appropriate individuals to assess their qualifications for the position and interest in the opportunity at hand.

Presentation of candidates

Once the research has been completed, HSK will present to you a slate of candidates, who, after in-depth telephone and personal interviews, are judged to have a combination of the technical skills and personal style required. If we find that after the first round of interviews our focus needs to change in any way, we will identify additional candidates until you feel totally comfortable with the people you have to choose from.

The short list

After you meet the candidates, we will narrow the field to one or two finalists who would then go on to meet the others who are in the interview loop. We will arrange all meetings for you, and get feedback from both you and the candidates at each stage.

Reference checks

From there, extensive reference checking will be done to better assess each candidate’s strengths, weaknesses and viability for your company culture. We offer complete background checks, including checks of credit and criminal records.

Negotiations

If you desire, HSK will be intimately involved in the entire offer and compensation negotiation.
