Carrie Molay Partner cmolay@hsksearch.com

Specialties: Digital and Publishing Sales & Marketing, Promotion, Research, General Management

Carrie is a Partner at The Howard-Sloan-Koller Group and plays a senior leadership role in business development and execution of the firm’s searches in sales and marketing, publishing and general management at digital, print, cross-platform, mobile and nontraditional media companies. Carrie brings to executive search a strong track record in revenue generation and general business management.

Prior to joining HSK in 2006, Carrie was Vice President, Group Publisher at Lifestyle Media, a publisher of special interest media brands, Web sites, and producer of trade shows and conferences. Carrie had P+L responsibility for six consumer magazines, including American Cheerleader, Dance Spirit, Dance Teacher, Pointe, Stage Directions, European Dance News, and the B2B magazine, Dance Retailer News.

Carrie experienced steady growth at Lifestyle Media since starting there in 1998. Overseeing several launches, she played a critical role in increasing the company’s revenue market share and profitability. Eight years later, as part of Lifestyle’s executive team, Carrie worked closely with the CEO and Board of Directors to transition from founding-entrepreneurial ownership to private-equity-backed ownership.

Carrie has also served on the Board of Directors of Luminary Publishing, a privately-held media company that publishes Chronogram – a Mid-Hudson magazine of events and ideas. Her budget and sales development advice helped the company increase operational effectiveness and reach profitability for the first time. She also helped launch a second title.

Carrie graduated magna cum laude from Northeastern University with a BA in political science and an unofficial minor in theater. She is a member of Advertising Women of New York and the Interactive Advertising Bureau and is a guest lecturer at The New School graduate program in Media Studies.
